now that the dust has settled, can we all agree; this isn't as bad as all that?
i mean sure, Burton's colour palette tends toward darker hues with gothic curlicues on every - single - thing so the vista of the chocolate waterfall isn't so magical as the original, and there's no denying that Depp's Wonka is nowhere near so charming as Wilder's
but...
it's not as awful as i remember from when it first came out, and i haven't watched the original in quite some time - though i think i probably will quite soon
so yeah, whatta ya think?
oh and please be gentle, i'm not feeling very well today so it's possible my current opinion is being coloured by toxic shock
