They remade Conan with Jason Momoa, who is an exceptional choice to fill Arnie's shoes. And it wasn't even that bad, fairly decent. But nobody showed up to see it. Hard to get companies to make badass macho flicks if nobody sees them.

I did check out batman forever last week though. Not as bad as I expected.

Because everything has to be approached with a sort of detached, snarky irony. The 80's are obsessed over for three reasons. Obviously, the first is nostalgia. But the others stem from the fact that the 80's were the last truely sincere decade before the 90's introduced apathy an irony as crowning virtues. People loom to the 80's to escape the snarky irony of today, and hacks look to the 80's for the sake of parody, as good satire is a parasite on the back of sincerity/
