I unironically watched Veronica Mars not long ago and I enjoyed it, the movie too. I watched Buffy while growing up and wasn't that into it. And tbqh I think Veronica is more attractive.

Veronica Mars was a strong show, but we don't know whether it could have maintained that for 7 seasons. The movie was also not bad and basically a long episode which was all I really wanted.

Buffy was too metaphor heavy and didn't really work them into the episode without being hamfisted. Angel still holds up though.

Veronica was shit. the reveal of season 1 killer wasn't forshadowed at all and also she didn't discover it by sleuthing, only by getting literally a 'here's your killer' evidence at the very end of the season.

Veronica Mars is a legit good TV show. Buffy is a strong genre show that has some kino episodes. They're hard shows to compare.

just finished watching buffy again last week (and Angel). I'd say 70% of the series aged well and still holds up. the rest is campy af and I didn't like it back then either. just skipped many episodes from season 1-3. if you never watched it before, power through the bad ones, as it still develops the characters and your bonds to them. (just want to rant here, the thing I never got when I was younger is how fucking idiotic and stupid and dickish xander is, but meh) Angel aged much better, and season 5 is just generally a great season.

It has ONE (1) good season and that's that.

What i don't understand about Veronica Mars is why people liked Lily? just going by flashbacks and what we've seen, she was a pretty shitty human being.

Veronica Mars season 1 and 2 are legit amazing.
Season 3 is.... well, it has some good episodes but overall it was pretty mediocre. Its a shame it got canceled, though.

i actually got depressed for weeks after finishing VM, I just couldn't deal with not having Veronica as my gf.

I wouldn't say VM is any worse or better than your typical teen shows like The OC or 90210 and the likes. There's nothing that really made it stand out in my opinion. Would I recommend watching it? sure, if someone was looking specifically for this type of show, but i wouldn't say it's some television event you can't not watch.

Season 1 of Veronica Mars is incredible and there's not really been anything quite like it since.

Buffy has more good seasons but a lot of the shows inspired by it also improve on it in places. Also some episodes have aged like shit.

When was the last time cw had a genuinely good show? Stuff like Buffy and vm flew under the radar because cw expectations are so low usually the writers are free to do whatever they want, thus making them creatively superior to boring networks like ABC or NBC even though they have no budget and have to work within genres catering to teenage girls
