Oh fuck off, the failure of Heroes has been picked over so many times. It was meant to be an anthology show then the producers made them bring the original cast back, meaning a whole bunch of now-finished storylines had to be restarted with shitty results.

Did the writer's strike hurt any other show as severely as Heroes? I don't think anything else came close. It never recovered.

I think you mean what happened halfway in the second season. Well sit down because Im gonna tell you a story. A story about how some fuckin dickheads ruined my favorite tv show.
The first season of Heroes did pretty good. They did a second season but during the production of the second season the 2006 writing strike happened. (I forget what year it actually happened and I cant be fucked to check. Im phoneposting at work on my lunch break). Bunch of tv writers were buttmad that they were writing all of these great shows and were hardly being credited and paid for them. So they went on a writers strike that affected multiple tv stations. NBC was hit hard by the strike and about 114 shows or something owned by NBC were affected. Heroes' second season got cut in half and ended halfway through with a shitty contrived ending to end it with. Heroes was ok'd for a third season but most of the fanbase checked out during season 2. Season 3 continued the path season 2 was supposed to take but again had to be changed heavily. Season 4 was a bullshit season that I liked but I was one of a few hundred fans. After Heroes was canceled it was 2 years later their prop department auctioned off a bunch of their props and I actually spent 4 thousand dollars on one of 2 known props of the painting Sylar paints during the season 1 finale that depicts his and Peters Kirby Plaza battle. I feel good about owning it but fuck the writers strike for killing my favorite show.

It wasn't the writer's strike. Heroes Reborn proved that. Everyone involved was shit and they only had enough good ideas to last 3/4 of one season (season 1 of the original.) The strike was just a convenient excuse for the show's shittiness.
