My biggest problem with it is that the characters are too simple and one-dimensional. It's a decent movie, but it really didn't try to do anything interesting at all. The good part in it is getting a glimpse into what it could have been like, and also the sinking of the ship. I think RLMs video on it is accurate.

2 and 1/2 hours of slow but steady buildup, then a torrent of events in the final 10 minutes. And all without campy drama or screaming.
