Characters done better in the remake than in the original.

I can't tell if this is bait. On one hand, the movie was an abomination. On the other hand, this was one of the few changes that worked.

Nostalgiababby detected. The remake was much more faithful to the book. The only worse thing about it was the music.

I honestly really enjoy the Burton version, Depp's weird choice of Wonka portrayal aside

No way. They found a way to make the book's songs good to listen to.
The Augustus Gloop and Veruca Salt ones are particularly good.
The Violet Beauregarde is also good.
Mel Brooks elevated the first one to a level the second couldn't match.

>Mel Brooks
You mean Gene Wilder?

I don't give one single fuck about the book. I paid to see a movie, and this one was a boring piece of shit.
Compared to the Batman & Robin version.
Compared to '98 Zilla, he's really fucking god.

I liked his Wonka, the father storyline was obviously unecessary and strange but he took the character in a new direction and wasn't a fucking sociopath like Wilder's version
