I grew up watching TNG and later saw DS9, but never got into Voyager. Had a friend always tell me it was the best. Finally getting around to it, and holy shit. It's miserable. Like, there are a few good episodes here and there, but even those are tainted by how horribly they've mishandled the premise of the show. My friend told me I needed to give it "a couple of seasons" to stabilize, but I'm in season 5 and it's still mostly crap.

After being so completely wowed by TNG and DS9, it's legitimately weird to be watching a '90s Trek series that just so consistently manages to shit itself. It's like those occasional weak episodes of TNG or DS9 where you just roll your eyes at the credits and move on, only almost EVERY fucking episode is that episode. It's like a family with three kids, and two of them were incredibly successful, but you find out the third one that you never talked to huffs paint and works at Costco. Like, 5 seasons and now I'm just trudging through it to say that I've watched it. It's almost impressive how each episode quickly degenerates into sub-standard white noise.

What is /tv/'s consensus on the best/worst seasons of Voyager? Have I passed the peak? IS there a peak?

Outside of a few fringe assholes that say otherwise, Voyager is considered the worst of them all. Enterprise is close but most people agree that it had a lot of potential until it got cancelled and they asspulled the final episode.
