Timequake edition.

>We are delighted to announce our first piece of casting for the forthcoming film, K9: TimeQuake.

Wouldn't mind a new one as long as it serves a purpose. I want to see the Doctor actually living in the TARDIS.
9 and 10s looked like it smelled kinda funky and musky.
11s first was just a mess, but his last one was a nice design. The blue lights and lack of anything other than metal made it seem cold.
Capaldis had chairs and book cases and chalkboards and cupboards right there in the console room. I like to imagine 12 looking at the amount of rooms one day, knowing full well he's always on the move too much to have everything so far apart, so he said Fuck it and put all his main shit in one room.

Could do with out those view obstructing metal pillars but other than that, this was one of the best designs.

Also why did the War Doctor go from this to a mash up of the first TARDIS and 10s TARDIS?

Imagine John Hurts TARDIS with nothing in it. Just metal and concrete, a visual metaphor for the Doctor as he was during the Time War.

Well he knew 12 was calling himself a Doctor. Also it is Moffat's headcanon since the 90s that the Doctor is the reason humans have the word 'doctor' so it could apply in that sense.
>>
>>85179077
1st wouldn't know that though.

Sorry I wanted to get all the variations, and like 12, his Tardis likes to change it up a bit
>>
>>85178993
I got the impression that with the context of "I am not A Doctor, I'm THE Doctor," that by "the original" he doesn't mean the first regeneration, he's differentiating himself from ordinary doctors and stating he came before that.
This just seems like whining for the sake of it honestly.

>>
>>85179120
No, from a script perspective he means the original Time Lord called the Doctor

Face it, the Doylist explanation always win
>>
>>85179100
I mean in the sense that he goes around everywhere quite literally saying "I am the Doctor" in people's native languages, and that then influences people's perceptions of what the word means.
>>
>>85179146
>Do people not know you can pick more than one in that poll?
I didn't notice that, I just assumed it wouldn't be the case since it makes no sense.
>>
>>85178778
I think thematically it's going to be very powerful with both Doctors facing their legacy. I think Moffat will give this his all, it'll likely be his last ever episode, so I think it could potentially be Heaven Sent tier classic.
>>
>>85179172
I'm so glad Moffat's gone and with him this THE DOCTOR IS A LITERAL GOD WHO SCARES OFF THE VILLAINS BY NAMEDROPPING HIMSELF mentality
>>
>>85178993
It's not dissimilar from the 4th Doctor saying a similar thing to Harry, and I'm sure there have been other instances but I can't remember. So the idea of The Doctor replying to someone else saying "I'm The Doctor" with "No actually I'm The Doctor" isn't new.
>>85179100
It's a bootstrap paradox thing. The Doctor got his name from the word "doctor" but we get the word "doctor" from him.
>>
>>85179168
>No, from a script perspective he means the original Time Lord called the Doctor
No he fucking doesn't. He has no clue that 12 is a Time Lord, he just thinks he's a regular doctor, and he butts in and says "you may be a doctor, but I am THE Doctor," he's asserting himself to him. This is the most autistic Moffat rant I've seen yet.
>>
>>85179166
It's still considered the secondary room as a set.
>>
>>85179208
>4th Doctor saying a similar thing to Harry
Similar, but a fundamentally different phrasing that doesn't fuck the fourth wall up the ass for a cheap wink to the audience moment
>>
>>85179202
Can't wait for this to go.
Moffat made it sound like the Doctor was a universally recognized god-
But then Villains wouldn't recognize him.
Shit was gay.
>>
>>85179192
Exactly. If we're deciding which is the best one why can we pick more than one
>>
>>85179194
Don't forget that Capaldi apparently made a suggestion (which Moff realised was perfect) about how 12 should be written in the final scenes. It's nice to know he had input on how he's going to bow out
>>
>>85179099
12 said he is THE Doctor.
1 replied NO that can't be, because I AM THE Doctor.

1 was just being a dick.
>>
>>85179241
It doesn't fuck the fourth wall you utter retard
>>
>>85179202
>THE DOCTOR IS A LITERAL GOD WHO SCARES OFF THE VILLAINS BY NAMEDROPPING HIMSELF mentality
Has that even happened since 2011?
>>
>>85179255
Yes it does

The line is written by a shameless fanservice whore with the obvious intention that he's talking about his future selves that he shouldn't know about
>>
>>85179254
So would 1 be totally ignorant to the idea of meeting his future self? Like he didn't think it would happen?
I would like this to be explored in the episode. Would he be disappointed that he never grew up?
>>
>>85179255
There's no fourth wall in this show to break anyway, Capaldi LITERALLY looked at the camera in Heaven Sent.

11 also got more "normal" as time went on. His initial tweed was a bit quirky since he was a young man in old man's clothing and there was usually a bright red bowtie accompanying it, but his green coat and purple coat in series 6B and 7B were relatively more normal.

They've basically kept them pretty much the same throughout, except for Season 14, the Movie and then the 2005 reboot. 11 got a big redesign for his first series. Then it changed again later and Capaldi's was basically the same but with books and chalk boards.

I think we'll get something completely new for 13 now. Central Console Unit obviously, but the rest of the interior will probably be completely refurbished and get a new colour scheme most likely.

Whatever design they create for the new TARDIS I hope it keeps the police box doors. It helps convey that this room actually IS inside the box, as opposed to it just being a set. I never thought any of the classic TARDIS interiors were connected directly to the doors.
>>
>>85181844
There's not a contradiction here. If they said they'd received 16 million complaints, then maybe you'd have something.
>>
What about a large roomey chapel-like TARDIS with marble and stone? Maybe even a fountain and statues.
>>
>>85181844
Take a look at any facebook posts about it. 50k+ likes and loves, only about 3k angry reactions and fewer sad. What they mean is most people are thrilled, and they are telling the vocal butthurts that they hear what they are saying and don't give two shits.
>>
>>85181904
More to the point, it lets them do shots where they go directly from outside the TARDIS to inside (and vice versa).
They didn't do that in Classic for obvious reasons, so they had this perception illusion thing going on where the doors look different from the inside than the outside. But the NuWho approach yields much better dividends.
>>
>>85181904
this.
Was it ever explained at all? Was there two sets of doors? he'd push the blue doors open but the inside doors would open like an automatic door.
>>

They weren't connected directly to the doors. There's like a little buffer zone hallway, because TARDIS's change shape the door changes and the hall changes with it. The doors we see lead to the hall which leads to the outside. I say, hall but it's really like two feet of space, since the Chameleon circuit is broken the Doctor doesn't need the big clunky doors anymore so he ditched them.

My point was that BBC News is a lot more reliable than say The Daily Mail or The Sun because unlike them, BBC News isn't backed by influential companies and rich people.

Sure, the BBC has positive views on immigration (Zygon two-parter), but you'd never see a front cover page story of Rolf Harris "allegedly" annoying his prison inmates with his uncontrollable farting (google it, this actually happened).

Why do you think every newspaper brutally attacks the BBC at every opportunity? They want the establishment to die because they're in their way.

I think Chibnall had just finished ending Broadchurch and said he wanted a holiday before sitting down and doing Who. I think this is a good thing if anything because he'll have gone in with a clear head instead of Moffat constantly juggling DW and Sherlock, resulting in both being shite.

I'm sure writers are in, storyboards are being done, sets built, people cast etc. But it sounds like filming will start early 2018 so in all likelihood S11 will air in the autumn. Shame cause I love a spring start but what can you do?

Any actual fan of the show wouldn't be spending their time crying about the gender of the actor portraying the Doctor, but embracing the exciting fact that we've got another soft reboot coming, which brings a lot of possibilities to the show. Like showrunner's ideas, new writers, change of TARDIS/logo/opening sequence etc.

DOCTOR WHO: SHIT TRIPS Vol. 2
- The Anthology -

>Are you a true fan of Doctor Who?
>Have you ever written down a sequence of words?

If the answer is yes or no, then you are ready to contribute a literary masterpiece to the second /who/ collection of original Doctor Who-based short fiction.

/who/ did it once. Now, we're gonna do it again! Yet another entry in an age-old tradition of p̶a̶c̶k̶a̶g̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶a̶n̶f̶i̶c̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶g̶e̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶a̶i̶r̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶l̶e̶g̶i̶t̶i̶m̶a̶c̶y̶ / celebrating the magic of Who and the talent of a community.

There are no limits (except the story must be at least 1 word long, and preferably not in excess of 10,000, it's short fiction you fuck).

>- Can involve any Doctor(s), companion(s), side characters, spinoff characters and beyond, as your heart desires
>- Can be in any style, whether it's "legitimate writing", "pisstake", or "shitpost".
>- Can be about absolutely anything
>- The main focus is on good fun in the vein of the wiki, although serious entries are allowed. (If you're going to write smut, maybe approach it with a degree of levity)

Stuck for ideas? Try starting with your favourite TARDIS team (or for timeliness, Whittaker 13th Doctor) and one of these authentic titles:
http://www.saberpunk.net/DoctorWho/DoctorWhoSerialGenerator.php
https://glyphobet.net/drwho

We are going to be starting an index on the wiki for the collection. Anyone can contribute, no signups/pitches required. If you have ideas, feel free to broadcast them.
The rest is self-explanatory. Format for uploading your work is up to you, as long as it can be conveniently copied across (and ideally don't spam long texts in /who/ directly). (Pastebin works well.)

BONUS: Anyone who wants to do cover art or "illustrations" is encouraged.

WE NEED MORE ENTRIES

A woman doesn't need to be special. Jodie looks beautiful to me. There's an air to her I find really attractive. Objectively speaking sure, she won't win any "sexiest woman alive" awards. But I still think she's beautiful.

>>
>>85184792
True. I'd just like to see Tennant act astonished that he isn't invited and hatching a plan with fellow Doctors.

60th will have Tennant, Smith, Capaldi for sure. Would've had Hurt as well if he were still alive.
I just hope that with each big anniversary episode, some of the older Doctors who don't look the part anymore make a funny Five-ish Doctors thing. I never liked Colin much, but he was the brains behind that operation and he's surged in my esteem because of it.

Lataly is was wondering, did Bill basically suggested the Doctor how to regenerate with her last words to him? (she said something like "you know i like girls and kind of young" or something like that)
There is no way Moffat isnt going to use that bit during the special
>>
>>85184260
Didn't Davison say he wanted to do a sequel some day? Davison loves doing these kind of videos, at least. If you haven't seen his videos from when he couldn't go to Gallifrey One, you should at least give those a watch.

New general When?
>>
>>85184862
If he agrees, absolutely. But don't forget that we could've had McGann in the role that Hurt eventually played. Eccleston declined, but so did McGann. It would've made much more sense for him to be the War Doctor, and we wouldn't be stuck with this numbering system of 13 Doctors and 1 incarnation that doesn't count because.

>>
>>85185390
War was not called "The Doctor," thus he is not numbered.
>>
>>85185433
He was deemed 'the Doctor' by Tennant and Smith right before he regenerates
>>
>>85185433
No but his existence still makes Matt the twelfth incarnation m8
>>
>>85185520
That's fucking dumb. There could be plenty of incarnations prior to Hartnell, and Ten technically regenerated twice. Moffat specifically said Hurt does not count as a "Doctor" and doesn't change the numbering, and that Matt is the Eleventh Doctor. You autists are now just going against the word of the literal writer responsible for this, and that is fucking retarded.
>>
>>85185577
>fucking retarded.
fucking retarded would be someone unable to count the fact that there were 11 incarnations prior to Smith's one, making him 12
>>
>>85185832
Smith would have been the 13th incarnation anyway, right? Because 9th was the War Doctor and Tenth was the 11th and 12th, right?
