snoke captures leia and intends to torture/question her and then force kylo to kill her because killing his father had the opposite effect as intended. he is a total wreck and filled with regret and remorse for doing so and even asks snoke if he can quit being his apprentice. snoke tells him that rey is better and he would rather train her anyway so kylo gets mad, captures leia and goes to meet luke. where luke kills her at the climax of the film, revealing himself as the true villain
