Why is Wes Anderson regarded as a great filmmaker?

And so, you know, I never got the call.

Oh, I see, so quirky! But honestly, I've seen Rushmore, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom and I just can't see why he's one of the most celebrated """auteurs""" working today.
