Even if you don't like the Church, it still doesn't make any sense in this context. Ignoring the "relijon r bad" trope that's been done to death forever, it literally makes no sense to villainize Christianity in a mythology where crucifixes and holy water are go-to life-saving items. And it's not even done well. As antagonists the Church in this show is literally retarded and 1-dimensional. This is some comic book-level of shallowness.
