Her speech also set up a theme for the episode, and maybe the season as a whole. The idea that girls stay home and boys go to fight other people's wars was reinstated by the Lannister soldiers that Arya Stark encountered on the road — but these women aren't about that life.

Change is finally coming to Westeros, both with Daenerys' bold strokes and smaller movements like this. As a feminist fan of the show, I couldn't be more thrilled. Especially because speeches like these are motivational outside of the show as well. We live in a political time when women are fighting and resisting and taking their power back — and Lyanna gave us a rallying cry we can all stand by.

This might just be autism but was anyone bothered by all the written text in the last episode?

I don't really recall any episodes where they show off actual written language. For example when Sam enters the citadel the maester is reading from a book or log with symbols I don't recognize which remind me of something like Ogham runes.

But through out this episode we get text that's written in modern english alphabet. It's very grating and kept ruining the immersion of a medieval fantasy series.

If anyone can point me to one time in history when a child has had something worthwhile to say that isn't a repeat of what someone else told them please let me know. Also I think experience is necessary for any leader, this kids been on an island her whole life and now is talking like she knows how shit works. Even the best of histories prodigies wouldn't be able to act the same way.
