The scenes are unnecessarily long and if it came out today it would be criticised for it, I dont care that it was the "first to do it", it did it wrong. It was so basic how he filmed the apes, I see more complex filmaking from a wildlife documentary.

I liked some visuals and soundtrack. HAL stuff was good. Not as good as I expected from "DA BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME", but decent and entertaining.
The main problem I have with this movie is that AI stuff has literally no connection to actual plot about aliens who made humans. Maybe I just dumb and don't see the grand connection, but didn't the whole idea behind HAL story was "your creations can be unpredictable and go out of control"? It's not like humans are a thread to their creators in any possible way. The guy in the end is immediately put into inter-galactic zoo or whatever and he lives his whole life here unable to do anything about it.
I just don't see what is the point of this movie.
Has a great horror atmosphere, though. Most of the time.
