The second he carved open the body with the knife he was in, at this point the only way was further down the rabbit hole. Same as to when he got into the facility, there was no backing out. If he just went home after looking at the body he'd get drugged by the black bag guys like he did anyway, except by going to the facility he ensured that he'd have more info than just "the body was a fake". He's also the sheriff of the town so they couldn't suicide him quite as easy.

And he didn't clean up his house because he had a kid to save and a monster to catch. When would he find the time?

They did, eventually. Also, Jon had guilt about letting his brother go missing so he wanted to handle things himself, that's an explained part of his character.

Yeah but still she could have tried to play it cool instead of yelling incoherently at everyone. That's a good way to get yourself committed and lose custody of your kid.

Actually I'm surprised they didn't kill him after seeing the upside-down portal, since he knew too much. I mean he didn't tell anyone where he was going and past episodes tell us they have no qualms about killing/disappearing people and making it look like a suicide/accident/they ran away. With all the security cameras he had to have known he'd get caught. It was basically a suicide mission and he should be thanking his lucky stars he's still alive, since he was really pushing his luck.

Also If he had time to look for the bug, he had time to scoop the pills into a garbage bag and tie it off. If it's just getting rid of the pills it wouldn't have taken him long.

I know but it would literally have taken her like 10 seconds to find and tell Jon before she went in. Even most real-life teenagers I know wouldn't have done something so stupid without taking a few second to tell someone.

She was going through a lot of stress at time... I mean, monsters in the walls, strange phonecalls, your baby boy is missing. Plus, she was stated to have a history with anxiety. It makes sense that she'd act frazzled and slightly illogical, have you ever met a worried mum? Hardly the pinnacle of clear thinking. And she wasn't really yelling at everyone, only at her son and the sheriff. She managed to keep her shit cool at the funeral for example. And anyway, it's a small town, people know her. She has leeway.

Well, they couldn't kill him for several reasons. First, they already suicided a dude, and like the man said the last time a death, disappearance, suicide etc. happened was like fifty years ago. Too many deaths/suicides in one small area would be extremely suspicious, and would attract unwanted attention. Their op was already spread thin, looking for the girl and the monster. They needed to keep it contained.

And how did they know that he didn't tell anyone? He isn't a random, he's a sheriff with possible government ties. If he called up his friends in the "big city" and told them all this shit and that he was gonna go investigate the lab, and then he suspiciously dies, the jig would be up. So they just vanned him and made it seem like he got drunk/high. He knew all this going in, so he made sure to try and get as much info before inevitably getting v&

And why would he need to? Maybe he did, later. Why does that matter? It's his home.

They could have made it look like an accident. I mean the other cops aren't the most inquisitive people in town, and he didn't tell anyone he was going to the facility (another mistake) so suspicion wouldn't have fallen on the CIA guys.

The thing that annoyed me the most about this show is how dumb the missing kid was. I'm not even going to spoiler this shit so if you've not watched the show by now stop reading this.

So this kid is chased by the demongorgon and escapes by crawling into the gateway to the Upside-Down that the thing created. We later see the thing creating other gateways, it had to every time it was hunting in our realm. So why the fuck didn't this kid come back to our realm while the damn thing was away chasing something? We know those gateways persist for a time so he would have had the opportunity to get the hell back a lot sooner than he did. On that note, why the fuck did they decide they had to use the gateway in the military complex to save him? The older son and sister knew the damn thing could create its own gateway, she crawled thru one for fuck's sake, all they had to do was lure the thing to the house, which they already were going to do, and use that gateway to enter the Upside-Down to rescue the missing kid. The only reason the cop and the mother had to goto that complex is because their moronic kids never bothered to tell them that the damn thing was opening its own persistent gateways.
