I remember reading somewhere that they wanted it to be saved for the finale because it was too clean and they wanted jessie and walt to have to psychologically deal with "Agh they died by getting their brain blow out instead" etc.
Also they said it was too boring (I think)
I like to believe they saved it for an appropriate character
