They were shit, watched the third one today for the first time. Really weird pacing in the 2 sequels and a horrible ending and smith as the final boss.

The parts that enjoyed where the parts where it attempted to expand on the original. The idea of an arms race of the AI vs the resistance ("Improvements?"), the idea of a virus within the AI, the idea of 3rd parties trying to maintain the status quo. However, these were all sideshows that ultimately went no where, so in retrospect make the movie a lot less impressive.

The first was great for it let the imagination take hold with concepts that did not have to be expanded on. The second was more vulnerable, but I feel would have been received more favorably if the third was never made so it got the benefit of the doubt.
