Why is season 4 so bad? YIKES.

Because it's just 'dude we're going to make it big, oh no we had a setback' repeated for 4 seasons, and halfway through the series they actually forgot to add jokes

The problem with Silicon Valley is the repetition of the narrative. I understand that constantly making the Pied Piper team fail is what leads to comedy, but its gotten so far-fetched and obvious when it's happening that you can almost guess a plot arc's trajectory as it's introduced. The character interactions are the saving grace, and even those are starting to get stale.

I even recently re-watched season 1 and it's aged terribly. I don't think this was ever a good show, it just relied on real-life events so we'd be engaged on a 'oh wow.. that's like when Apple did that thing! and when Google bought out that company!' kind of level. it's such an on-the-nose pastiche and it did work for a while but this show is done now.

I thought the story was lackluster but at some point I thought that as long as it made me laugh I didn't care about much else. I see it as purely a comedy and don't care about the dramatic shit at all. As a comedy it is funny, at least in my opinion.

I've grown to hate absolutely everyone involved except for Mike Judge. Wishing he replaces all actors with the cast of Office Space. How fucking great would that be!!! Can we make this happen!!!
