It seems the Rogue One CGI gave her depression which made her turn to alcohol and drugs. She probably considered suicide already but Rogue One triggered it. She was surrounded by Hollywood corporate tools that only care about money. Kathleen Kennedy doesn't give a shit about Carrie, she's only thinking about how that movie is gonna make now that she's dead.
