I have, it was mediocre.

I liked the first one and don't want to taint my memories of it

I did. It had some moments but was otherwise pretty bland and felt like a cash in. The new choose life speech was terrible and felt dated, which is funnily the opposite of what they were going for.

I have, and I loved it, but I have to admit that I don't think this would have worked as a stand-alone movie based on its own merits. This is for people who think of the four main characters as old friends and want to be reunited with them, if that holds no appeal to you then the movie won't either.

I have seen 5 Danny Boyle movies including Trainspotting. I am positive he will never make a movie I enjoy.

Yes, the film also showed how dated/old the main characters had become and I found that extremely depressing, seeing 40 year old men in night clubs, the first film was about the stupid decisions they made in their 20's which were excusable and understandable but then in the second film it was depressing to see them.

I didn't really like the more meta aspects "there's always a betrayal etc..." but enjoyed seeing Mark and Simon hang out and Franco just being Franco, but seeing how he literally lived at his old house and the police don't come by once is ridiculous
