It butchers the source material, the characters act out of character, the plot is a fucking mess, and the whole Rebuild trilogy feels like a quick cash grab off the eva name.

But the music is top tier kino

The original series and EoE were products of a bunch of different factors. These factors will never truly be replicated again, and any attempt to continue those works will be inauthentic and lack the raw craziness/chance of what made the originals.

Wasn't the point of the rebuild movies to remake Evangelion with better animation? The Animation already looks dated on some of the older ones.

I felt like the time skip plot would have worked better if it had more time to be flushed out instead of being the mess we got.

The flick is utter trash minted at otaku lowlifes obsessesed with Evangelion. They rewrote the entire setting dumbing it down, and rewrote characters like Asuka to remove any flaws, turned Shinji into a non-character lynchpin, and entirely sabotaged characters like Rei and Misato.

Its like the director finally had his temper tantrum.

It's a bad feeling. On one hand I wish Anno would go back to being seriously depressed and stressed trying to reach deadlines so he is forced to create another masterpiece. On the other hand seeing Anno now happy and successful it seems selfish to ask he put his craft before his mental health.
