Its the story of how a few autist managed to make a lot of money on a massive misjudgment of Wall Street. Pointing out how a form of mania made the markets massively miscalculate.

I got the impression that the inclusion was to show how people taking the loans out were retarded and their retardation played a part in the issue, but that their retardation was enabled by the people giving them loans. The real weakness of the movie is not really touching on the role that the central bank played (or didn't play) and the policies of Clinton and Bush. From what I remember anyway.
