How does a movie with a smaller budget have better CGI?

This too was a landmark for the vfx industry in '02
and would you look at that budget!

RDJ wasn't there to demand a hundred million dollars for his time.
Doesn't know how inflation works..

Because, outside of all the apes, the CGI action in Apes was average. Andy Serkis has his own mocap studio and they're good at what they do. In Spider-man, almost everything is CGI and they farm it out to well over a dozen different VFX houses.
If you want to talk about TV and movies, actually learn about the fucking industry.

Lets see one was an overproduced by the numbers cashgrab
The other one actually took risks, allowed the filmmakers and visual artists make bold creative decisions while executives steered clear of the production.
Hmm...

Top looks like shit for a movie. It looks too much like a video game, and very obviously CGI. Good CGI work is all about knowing how to blend the elements together (photography and CGI) to create the illusion of something being real.

don't worry, we know what you like. We have the final say.

>how does the one not staring RDJr have more money for better effects
>>84964248
HAHAHAHAH
>>84963326
Because apes don't require millions of dollars in order for them to act. You just have to give them bananas and peanuts.

I don't even know the director for SpiderMan hc
>Dawn of the planet of the apes budget: $235 million
>War for the planet of the apes budget: $150 million and the CGI looks even better
The CGi team involved with these movies is making HUGE progress
There is absolutely no fucking excuse anymore for these $200+ million movies that look like videogames

>Pajeet STILL defends Homecurry
>even when in the face of truth
>>84963326
They didn't pay RDJ half the budget
>>84964699
Dude, it's Jon Watts, the guy who brought us Clown and Cop Car. How could you not know this yes man with no artistic integrity
>>84964816
>CGi team involved with these movies is making HUGE progress
>Andy Serkis has his own mocap studio and they're good at what they do
Every single mocap studio is going under. These people work for peanuts and have to compete again pajeets. Truly the unsung heroes of modern cinema, not to imply that they're necessary, should be paid more or that modern movies are good (specially CG films). But this can only go on for so long. Disney just realized a few years ago that people don't care all that much for effects.
That being said the modern Ape films were a pleasant surprise and with a little better writing could have been classics.

It's really unfortunate. Without Andy Serkis, mocap would probably be a decade behind where it is today, but because of the house of mouse, he gets shit on.
