I hope theres some actual sense in escaping in the traps at least. Some of the recent ones either had no chance for the punished victim to escape or the logic was so longwinded and convoluted that it made no sense and the victim still had basically no chance of living.

All of the traps had a method of escaping except for two in 3 because they were rigged by Amanda, one in both 6 and 7 because they were executions. You don't remember the movies very well and are just inserting your own delusions onto the films.

I didn't even realise that I was almost nostalgic for this franchise. Watching Saw on Halloween became a tradition for my friends and I and the prospect of doing that again has me kinda hyped.
Hopefully they mix the best elements of the Amanda Trilogy with the best stuff from the Hoffman trilogy.

They actually put effort into these films, these are made for horror movie fans, they actually want to entertain you. Something like PA is made because hoards of dumb teenagers will go to see them just so they can talk about how hilarious it was when Stacey jumped so hard she spilled her popcorn. Saw has merit and effort behind it.

But whatever, I'll leave your 15 year old armchair film critic persona to your pretentious whining as you pretend these movies are absolute shit void of any artistic merit without actually having seen them.

Am I the only one that can handle the gore but totally get wrecked by the emotional aspect of the movies?
I mean, I can handle gore if it's just gore, but for some reason I get really stressed out from looking at other people being in emotional distress.

Dr Gordon's return was good, something we all predicted super early in the series. They dragged it a bit, with an idea of where its going but different writers seemed to jump between loving and hating Hoffman.

Really Strahm should have taken Hoffman down and killed him in a trap, he was a much stronger character. He should have become overcome and Hoffman, as Hoffman had repeatedly failed jigsaw tests as jigsaw himself, its revealed to strahm that he has just furthered the legacy of jigsaw.

Strahm on the run becomes the big point of 6/7 then, with 6 set at the same time/last half of five. Traps are still being set in 7 and everyone assumes its strahm.

Strahm is captured by Gordon who locks him in the bathroom, and he cuts his way out. Gordon reveals his identity in the series to strahm and strahm becomes a blackmailed apprentice to the new jigsaw.

Also showing Gordon much earlier (saw 5?) Would have made it better...

How is it difficult to understand? Enough people attend these films in theaters for a price and then purchase derivative products that provide a revenue comfortably larger than the investment cost, and this has happened again and again. Cracks are forming in this model though, but it's still pretty healthy. Do you think they would just make movies for tens of millions of dollars just to have no one see it and the studios and distributors just lose money?
