i really liked it
>>
>>84940728
They're not the only ones. The music and the situation humor are really good.
>>
neato
>>
It's reddit
>>
I didn't like the bit with the midget party but I loved everything else. It's very quotable
>>
probably my favorite in its genre
>>
I'm a britfag but it was still boring and devoid of humor.

I think it plays to the tumblr sensibilities of this board and the superwholockian crowd

So I'm right huh

>>84941051
Everything /tv/ likes can be found being talked about on reddit. The word has lost meaning
>>
>>84940708
It's OK
>>
Anyone else find it interesting that most of the cast is in Harry Potter

Mad eye
Fleur
Voldemort
Farrell was in Fantastic Beasts and thats basically Harry Potter
Even the priest that Ray shot was Dumbledores brother in Deathly Hallows
>>
Ive had a cocaine midget night, and it didnt go as well as the one in the movie. Cocaine and alcohol is the devil and makes you do evil things. Im a horrible human being
>>
>>84941143
what genre is that
what other movies belong in it
>>
>>84941272
JK Rowling had a mad boner for micks apparently
>>
>>84941331
im guessing black british comedy
>>
>>84941322
Everyone I know who did cocaine mixed it with alcohol and says basically the same thing. I was a coke head for a little while, but it was before I was a drinker. I feel like I missed out
>>
>>84941377
>british

delete this
>>
>>84941331
dark comedy
other films by that director are in that genre (I recommend his short film Six Shooterif you liked In Bruges, it's on youtube) and Fargo
>>
>>84940708
It's a fairytale fucking movie.

>>84941426
Don't forget The Guard. Different director, but Gleeson stars in it and it's in a similar style.
>>
>>84941385
Cocaine and alcohol is twice as bad for your heart
>>
>>84941475
I'm not a huge fan of that, it has a couple of golden scenes but overall just doesn't have the same spark
>>
>>84941475
The Guard was directed by his brother, and In Bruges' director was executive producer. They often work together. I haven't actually seen The Guard yet but I recommend Calvary by him (Gleeson also stars in it). It's definitely not as funny but really good. Soul crushing
>>
Kino. After Shia Labeouf, Colin Farrell is the most underrated actor of this generation.
>>
>>84941559
Yeah Calvary is good, very captivating. I opened it the other day to rewatch a scene or something and found myself watching more than planned. It's kind of serene and distressing at the same time.

I liked what I saw but I passed out drunk half an hour into it and never finished
>>
>>84940708
Literally visited Bruges because of this movie.

And I fuckin loved it.

The bench in the park where this shot was taken wasn't actually there :(
>>
if europe had a reddit they would like this movie.
>>
Watched it with a girl who got bored halfway through and just had sex instead. I still haven't finished it, maybe I should i really like the actors
>>
>>84940708

love it. comfy kino at its finest
>>
>>84941979
Would you recommend and how many brown people where there?
>>
>>84941979
Same. I stayed in the hotel they stayed in in the film and went to the chapel of the sacred blood.
City felt kinda themeparky to me though, i guess because without tourism they would have literally nothing
>>
This thread:

>I loved it
>It's Reddit

Everyone knows that people that associate shit with Reddit are fishing for YOU's.
>>
>>84942689
Yes, definitely. But this was 2 years ago. Idk how brown it is now.

>>84942747
Yeah, the central area was a little too touristy for my taste. I rented a bike and cycled out for to the smaller towns, towards Damme IIIRC. Took a dip in the river too. Beautiful countryside.
>>
I enjoyed it but seemed to be trying too hard to be cool.
>>
Funniest scene. Wouldn't fly today.

"In Bruges" is now Reddit...

...Is this some sorta stealth campaign to steal 4chan users for Reddit? Because Reddit is starting to look better and better...
>>
It felt alot like Waiting For Godot
It was fantastic
>>
>>84942689
Was there last march, only saw one black guy whilst i was there. Shitload of american tourists though.
>>
>>84941559
I'd recommend The Guard thoroughly, aside from Hangmen it's easily the best work from either of the McDonaghs.

In Bruges is a close 3rd but I can see why the idiosyncratic style could rub people up the wrong way. I do have a lot of Irish and Belgian family though so I find a lot of the cultural quirks recognisable and really funny
>>
I liked it when I was younger but now I fucking hate the part where the midget is talking about the race war and Gleeson's character is talking about his wife. And Colin Farrell was saying he'd side with the blacks. Obviously the director wanted to take a jab at white nationalism.
>>
>>84940708
Reddit in Bruges
>>
>>84944038
The original cut was even more heavy handed. They ended up deleting a scene where Matt Smith as a young Harry decapitates the guy who killed his wife
>>
>>84944074
Really? For fucks sake...
>>
>>84940708
I remembering it being pretty good, I should watch it again soon.
>>
>>84941194
This is probably why I didn't like it,
not much staying power.

Who here /hype/ for McDonagh's next film?
>>
If I grew up on a farm, and was retarded, In Bruges might impress me but I didn't, so it doesn't.
>>
>>84945762
Yeah but I don't understand it at all.
>>
>>84945790
Its setting up why Ken + Harry are so reluctant to kill each other at the end
>>
>>84944038
>Obviously the director wanted to take a jab at white nationalism.
because it's a complete joke
>>
>>84940708
The Guard is better
>>
great!! reminded me a lot of prison rape
>>
>>84945823
So what happened to Harry after that? In jail for a decade or what? Sorry it's been a long time since I watched the movie, and I know it's a deleted scene, but I just don't get why it would even be in the movie.
>>
>>84940708
Bland and unmemorable kind of shitty movie.

I thought it was pretty enjoyable. My only complaint would be that the violence is a bit gratuitous at times, but that's the point.

I like it

Def better than 7 psychopaths

One of my favourite films of all time. I rewatch it once or twice a year. The best depiction of depression I've ever seen in a film. Only flaw is that the shit with the midget drags on. Usually skip that scene.
>>
>>84940708
I thought it was hilarious, but I've only watched it once and I don't think it would hold up to repeat viewings.
