Today I watched this show and genuinely did go "what the fuck" through half of episode 2. Why is everyone pretending this was a good show? Am I the only one who hated it?
>Starts ok-ish even though it doesn't follow the lore (or does it?)
From the first few minutes is implied that Dracula is immortal because of science (although in the games he is immortal because he did a deal with the devil) and most of the early scenes are dedicated to some fedora tipping and muh evil church, which to some extent is ok. But later on it Dracula goes on how he summons an army from hell to get his revenge on mankind and they throw the science thing over the window in favor of heaven/hell/magic dynamic.
>the animation is kinda okayish for a western production on a budget
>until the scene where trevor belmont first appears in the bar
>at that point, I kid you not, I thought I was watching some boondocks shit
>trevor loses against some plebs supposidely because he was drunk
>they start using retarded jokes all the time
>the animation and the jokes become more and more avatar tier (the legend of whorra one, which is even worse.)
>they cannot decide if this is supposed to be a serious or funny show (wow so gore xd/12yr old jokes)
>all the fucking story tropes ever (evil religious guys, "good guys" who are shunned by the plebs, edgy protagonist who doesn't care anymore but in the end fight for honor or some bullshit like that, etc)
>after "recovering his dignity" he now helps the plebs in a city who are being slaughtered by thousands of bat things
>they kill 5 and act as if it was a great deed
>literal plot hole makes trevor and sypha get into alucard's chamber
>alucard now is a scrawny twilight faggot
How can anyone think that this was a great adaptation? Even for someone like me who is a great fan of SotN that was horrible. Even being 4 episodes I almost gave up on the third one. How this got so many overwhelmingly positive reviews?

lol no.
It was cringeworthy. As soon as the dialogue about goat fucking started, I should have turned it off. Writer sounds like some neckbeard incel who thinks filling his cartoon with "edgy" swearing and gore makes it "totally for grownups and not at all indicative of soul crushing and shameful arrested development". Everyone involved should feel embarrassment.

yes, that was exactly how I feel. It just blows my mind there no one is pointing out the immense amount of inconsistencies on that show.

I don' think you get it, I'm not talking about his face but about his body.
>chest/shoulder ratio is the same as dracula
>dracula is very tall/bulky on the show

I got up to 5-10 minutes into Episode 2 and stopped watching, because it was so disappointing.
Enough Castlevania fans liked it that I was convinced to give it another shot, and I continued watching the rest.
Episodes 3 and 4 are much better, and they finally get their footing by the end.
The first 2 episodes sucked, there's no getting around that, but it puts itself in a good place for when they start Season 2.
