The romance seems totally forced and hamfisted from the trailers. Is that the case?
>>84926564
there is no romance
>>84926564
Yes

I just saw this last week, I forget, did they ever explain why the fuck he blasts loud music and rubs his shin?
>>84926528
The ending is a little weak.
>>84926564
it is pretty forced
but maskusometing and Ben Affleck interacting was pretty cool
Underrated film. Glad they're doing a sequel.

Someone decided it was time to give Ben Affleck another crack at movie stardom.

autism

He's an autist. Many autists, including the Accountant, can be made very uncomfortable by excess stimulus, loud loud noises. He's basically training himself to be more tolerant of stimulus in the same way a person with OCD would cure it by not doing their OCD behaviors. It's exposure therapy.

My dad loves this movie...like really fucking likes it he's watched it at least 10 times since it came on HBO. But he's 72 and doesn't remember much so I think he watches it for the first time everytime.

Desensitizing himself so he doesn't spaz in the outside world.

Okay.
>>84926747
is he, dare i say it, suffering from alzheimer's?
>>84926601
It's implied that as someone with autism he finds them both to be extremely disturbing, and does it to overcome his autistic over reactions
>>84926601
the shin rubbing thing is standard practice for muay thai fighters to strengthen their shins by causing microfractures that heal stronger.
probably trying to cover the 'special training' and autism exposure therapy simultaneously
>>84926601
When your autistic you usually fucking hate loud noises so he's conditioning himself. As for the wood it's a thing fighters do to strengthen their legs for kicking.

Could be he stopped going to the VA so it could be related to PTSD as well. He's seen some shit. He's done some shit.
