Just watched this for the first time since 2014. I forgot how good it was. It is so refreshing to see a blockbuster without any quips or forced humor and a consistent tone.. The action was also coherent which was nice. Reflecting on this makes me realize just how dull capeshit movies really are. What are the chances of the third one being decent /tv/? Or have the studios tried to make it more Marvel-like?
I'm glad there are still respectable old fashioned craftsmen in Hollywood like reeves or Mangold doing blockbusters that don't constant insult the audience intelligence with non stop pandering to lowest common denominator.

I agree anon. I wish Reeves weren't doing a fucking Batman movie though.

Haven't seen the new one but the first two are legitimately dope. Great to see a blockbuster series not hit the audience over the head with nonsense

>the 8th film in the apes franchise, dawn of the planet of the apes, is of course a sequel to the 2011 reboot of the 2001 remake which is really just fine by me
The guy who played Koba fucking killed it in this film, probably more than Serkis

I remember people on /tv/ loving this scene when the movie came out. Now I see people shitting on it.

This
The scene where he plays dumb for the soldiers was fantastically done
I only saw it once but I'd really like to watch it again before War. my only real complaint was that Gary Oldman was an underwhelming antagonist (obviously the main one was Koba but it felt like he barely did anything in the movie )

I forgot he was in the movie.
