Embarrassing.
>>
I disagree with most of them based on the fact that for me, demon possession has become boring for me.

Also, the list is lacking The Blair Witch Project.

It's the most predictable list ever. I love Psycho, but it's not scary today. The Exorcist is scary? No shit. Just about every other 'terrifying film' list has it on there.

The problem is these lists tend to have popular horror films everyone already knows about. Instead of taking the opportunity to showcase some lesser-known horror movies, they decide to circlejerk about popular horror movies everyone has already seen.

The list is for terrifying movies, not boring ones.

Anyone watching The Exorcist series? I've never seen /tv/ talk about it.
>>

the question is, are there lesser known horror movies? The horror genre is pretty saturated if you ask me.
>>

Yes. The author could've mentioned The Poughkeepsie Tapes, Them, Pumpkinhead, Carnival of Souls, etc - horror movies that don't get a lot of attention. Instead, this guy goes on about iconic horror movies everyone already knows about. For such a 'cinema nerd', this guy doesn't know anything about horror.

This. I know a lot of you like Lake Mungo but there's no way I'd put it anywhere near the top 20.

>Pumpkinhead
those are literally rated 6/10

On what? IMDB? Who cares? The point is that Psycho, The Exorcist and the like have all been discussed to death. Instead of going on about how scary The Shining is, why not tell people about forgotten classics like Repulsion, Black Sunday or The Hitcher? These type of lists are redundant when they all have the same movies in them.

The Exorcist isnt scary for modern audiences. I first saw it as a kid (Im 24) and I was laughing the whole time because its like a slapstick 90s cartoon. Also its just damn funny by itself, the demon's dialogue is great. I was cracking up the whole time he was fucking with those priests.
