I still have this crazy dream that maybe someday we'll learn to love each other in spite of our differences. I think part of that is learning to understand each other. I'm conservative, but I try not to judge people too harshly for their ideas. I want to know why they think what they do. One of my dearest friends is the very definition of a social justice warrior. The US is the only legitimately free country because its constitution is a grant from the people to the government. In all other countries the people have no rights and the government gets to pass laws saying what freedoms they do and don't have. The US is different, it's the only country where by default the people have all the rights and the government has been granted only limited powers. That's why the first amendment isn't worded as "the people have the right to freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and freedom of the press". It's worded as "Congress shall make no law". It doesn't tell the people what they can do, by default the people are assumed to be able to do anything. It tells the government what it cannot do.

So when Aaron Sorkin says Canada, Japan, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, and Belgium have freedom I don't know what the fuck he's talking about.

Most of the things he said are only true when you forget that if you were to remove all non-whites, the USA would be far higher ranking in all the things that matters.
