Doesn't have much going for it. The second movie was a significant step down, third movie was awful, and Murphy hasn't had a solid lead film in decades.

I can't explain why I love the first Beverly Hills Cop. I've never found it to be THAT funny and I've always thought the action beats were pretty standard stuff but I'll rewatch it every now and then. If it's on tv I'll check it out.

I guess early 80's Eddie Murphy's charm and charisma goes a long way.
