how is this more logical? did you even watch the show? MIKE and the Tree presumed Cooper would get out normally and DoppelCoop would be returned to them, but when that didn't happen and Cooper was, first, thrown into the purple zone and second, through the electrical socket replacing Dougie, MIKE and the Tree realised something was wrong. They knew nothing about Dougie.

It's not really that complicated. Bad Coop manufactured Dougie to take his place when he had to go back to the black lodge. He assumed that when the switch happened Good Coop would take Dougies place, which he did but something went wrong with the switch and Good Coops mind is fried. Bad Coop has the hit out on "Dougie" because once that switch was made he has to kill him because as Mike said one of them has to die. Now everyone thinks Good Coop is Dougie but Dougie doesn't exist anymore having fufilled his purpose of tricking the black lodge.

Bad Coop created Dougie as a replacement doppelganger for the Lodge to absorb when the time came for him to return. It did just that and allowed Cooper to replace him when he went back into the real world. They didn't switch bodies or anything like that; Cooper is physically in the real world while Dougie is physically in the Lodge as a gold ball. Bad Cooper is trying to kill him because he knows that Cooper's back and knows he'll be a threat the longer he stays alive.
