On the flip side turning a bittersweet good end into a pseudo masochistic suffering bad end is better than can be said for most sequels. I liked it, but it did require several rewatches to catch everything that's going on. I'd call it an exposition of oversimplified yet deceptive scenery. Also the end of the fight scene between Mami and Homura was epic. Not the fight itself, when time picks back up and they're stuck staring each other down.
