What would LOTR be like had Saruman not gone bad?

Elaborate

>no uruks
>rohan doesn't get rekt
>armies of mordor get smashed by 3x as many armored cavalry

The same, but better.

>The Ring still goes to Frodo
>Fellowship still forms
>Saruman doesn't block their path
>Saruman doesn't corrupt Theoden or weaken Rohan with orc raids
>Saruman doesn't chop down Fangorn
>Fellowship makes it to Gondor intact, Rohan in tow, possibly picking up Smegol along the way.

The trick at this point would be figuring how to sneak into Mordor. Best option might be to split up and leave Aragorn to lead Gondor as a diversion and send Frodo, gollum, Sam, Legolas and Gandalf north or south of the Black Gate.

Even if he didn't go evil, would Saruman still come up with blasting powder and his other inventions? Part of my says no, simply because Tolkein generally equated industry with corruption.

Could Saruman still use the Palantir to conduct disinfo against Sauron?
>>
>>84778361
It might be harder to recruit the fighters of Rohan without Saruman's threat.
>>
Really short.

They wouldn't even have gone to Rohan. The Fellowship would have gone through Isengard instead on the way to Mordor, they wouldn't have gone through Moria and lost Gandalf.

The entire Fellowship would have made it to the outskirts of Mordor by the time the Two Towers was taking place.

Well, they still would have had a problem with Boromir, but Gandalf probably would keep things under control.

What if the ring came into someone else's posession other than just three different hobbits?

What about Lothlorien? would they go there? if not then Frodo doesn't receive that magical light from Galadriel. And what about those mountain ghosts?

Also in this case it's very likely that Rohan wouldn't come to help Minas Tirith and it will fall.

Too dangerous. Even if Saruman couldn't be corrupted, Sauron could still trick him into revealing too much.

What would his tax policy have been like if he hadn't turned evil?
>>
Aragorn would not have grown to become King

Sauron would have won

There's no reason they couldn't take the time to go to these places and recruit support. With the Fellowship intact, Gandalf could take them on a detour up to Galdriel. Boromir and Aragorn, as representatives of Gondor, could formally request Rohan's aid. Aragorn could still call in the ghost favor.
Saruman could join the fellowship.

(All this is assuming everyone just gets along and nobody is tempted by the Ring, an assumption that kind of sideteps a major theme of the story)

>Fellowship takes the Rohan pass to the east
>Gandalf doesn't go white power
>Fellowship isn't attacked by Uruk-Hai.
>Boromir doesn't die.
>Denethor doesn't become the broken man he is.
>Merry and Pippin don't get badass tall hobbits
>Legolas and Gimli don't develop a broship
>Aragorn never recruits the dead
>A sane Denethor lights the signal fires himself, possibly earlier.
>Theoden answers the call, because he's an honorable sort, and arrives earlier.
>Entire Battle of Pelennor Fields changes
>>

>Aragorn would not have grown to become King

This is pretty irrelevant to the plot.
