It was a mixed bag for me, Dracula and Alucard were great, the art design is fantastic and the story progresses just like the game while trying to flesh things out...BUUUUUUT HOLY SHIT THE DIALOGUE CAN BE CRINGEY. A whole 5 minutes are dedicated to tell the backsotory of a fucking peasent who hit another with a shovel just so a bar fight can happen, and THAT was our introduction to Trevor, FUCK THAT, FIRE WARREN ELLIS...

Thank god the story just started and season 2 can still fix things while focusing on the good stuff of the first season. I wanna see more mystical and science stuff, not ugly peasants.

I personally loved it, but yeah occasionally the writing could get a little on the edgy side. Saw the first two eps in a crowd with the producer Adi Shankar, and that was neat. Crowd really dug the Whip-based moments (taking out the eye got a huge reaction).

Should mention I know literally nothing of the games. This is enough to get me to play them though.

Belmont trying to be Medieval Tony Stark was kind of annoying, but the rest of it was pretty great.

They really needed another episode expanding on the whole Speaker thing though.

Bishop's death was amazing.

I just watched it all, and I'm not so autistic I can't enjoy a bit of fluff, so I'll say that I enjoyed it for what it was. However it's pretty clear who ever made this had a pretty bad time in Catholic school lol

It looks nice for the most part.
The setting and atmosphere is amazing.
I've only played a couple Castlevania games, but I like that they're keeping the story relatively simple. I hate adaptions that try to make shit overly complicated.
