Is this show /ck/ino?
Any other good, informational cooking shows nowadays, or is it all competitions and "watch guy eat and overhype the food"?

Chef Michael's Kitchen is hands down the best cooking show. Chuck's Day Off is my second favorite.

chuck's day off is based as hell
I like Michael smith' cooking but his voice and demeanour is fucking grating to me.

IMO yes.
I like how he uses science & history to explain why as opposed to "I'm awesome so do it like me."

Yes, that is one of the best cooking shows I have ever seen. I've learned so much from watching it and it's genuinely funny on top of that.

I loved it. It was the Bill Nye of cooking shows before bill nye went crazy. Unfortunately now Alton only does reality tv cook-off shows that I hate.

He might be bringing back something like Good Eats, I think.

I've heard it's called Alton Brown saves the world, so it can't be bad, right?
How It's Made: Junk Food Edition is my go-to comfy food kino.
His attitude of "this is how it was first done so that's what I'm going to show you" is stupid at times, but he got me into cooking and I still use some of his recipes.
