It's a great show but it has enough problems that it keeps it from achieving classic status. The first season is kind of a mess and they gave way too much time to that dumb cunt Paz de la Huerta. Also the last season was a bit rushed and not having a good ending for Rothstein's character really sucked

Season 3 is fine overall it just was slow if you had to watch it week by week because it was a slow build up

I will agree they ruined the Van Alden character by turning him into a pussy.
I will agree that lobotomizing Gillian made no sense.
I also think there was too much emphasis on the nigger stories. Those were some pretty uppity niggers for the 1920s. It was totally not believable.
Nucky was way too skelly to be a tough guy.
I liked the flashback stuff of when they were kids, but I think it would have worked better if it were sprinkled throughout the series instead of all in one lump at the end.
I hate the way they killed off my favorite character. I wanted him to make it.
