What does /tv/ think of this film?

i think boiling part is his better yakuza film made around that time

was pretty weird after watching it I felt like my time was wasted

I know it's meant to be "patrician" and one of his best movies but I just couldn't get into it

It was pretty good, nothing I really disliked about it. My dad described it as "painterly" which I thought was a fair description.
How long were they hiding out on the beach? Every so often they showed a full moon but I'm not sure if that meant months were passing or it had some symbolic significance.
