I was pretty disappointed in the last half hour. I thought the twist was going to be that the worms were controlling people and taking over the world by replacing the rich and powerful. It would have been the perfect Imvasion of The Body Snatchers scheme because the people who come back shill it and get their powerful friends to go.

Instead we got Zombie Dracula who wants to fuck his daughter.

It felt simultaneously over complicated yet under cooked. The ending cuts right through the mystery but there are details that were glossed over as if unimportant, like the weird town population and it's relationship to the institution.

The ending was a clusterfuck.
But having said that, the entire film was inconsistent. It kept changing between a thriller, a mystery film and a cheesy horror film and could quite decide which one it was.

This. What upset me was that they didn't really explain how it all worked. How did the eels create the elixir? He just gets bound in that machine and force-fed an eel and some elixir comes out the tap. But where did it comes from? Is it his piss?
And when he escaped in the taxi, he stopped off in the town at the bottom of the hill rather than going to a well-populated town with internet. It was so frustrating
