Butchering a character's visual identity for the sake of appealing to new demographics is a goddamned disgrace and a crime against the IP, it's akin to painting Venom's symbiote in shades of pink and getting rid of his sharp teeth and that gigantic slobbering tongue.

That is an argument. They can change anything they want about the characters as long as it keeps in line with visual guidelines.

And this just in, MJ isn't very iconic anymore. Children barely know who she is, so they changed her appearance to appeal to that. Again, you don't have to watch it if you don't support or like it. Let the kids enjoy their fucking comic book movies.
