Stephen King is a shit writer and way overrated. That's why most of his film adaptations turn out to be total garbage.

A lesser movie would have them be the underdog team narrowly beating the rich asshole team during the big game.

Instead they have one game against another team who they effortlessly beat and mock the whole time.
