Why do I find the cathartic nature of the show so addictive?

Matt episodes are probably some of my favorite. Only half way through season 2 and I love that character.

I think it's the realism of the dialogue and the performances. The only character that breaks my immersion and makes me cringe is Tommy, especially when he's interacting with Garvey. No twenty something is so chipper in less they're posting on reddit.
