I'm about to start watching this
What am I in for?
Any advice?
>>84651138
>Any advice?
Enjoy. Don't shit where you eat.
Starts good, sometimes become boring during the seasons, but has a great ending, and i mean GREAT.
My personal advise is to watch it in a shor period of time to not drop it when the boring episodes pops up
>>84651138
A really great, underrated show, and also top quality waifus.
Some of the best finales ever.
Cant remember what season but there is an ending where they play Pink Floyds Welcome to The Machine
And.
It.
Is.
Fucking.
Kino.
>>84651428
You mean like this?
Yeah, tbqh Amy is the sole reason I decided to watch this.
Well, not the only. I thought this might have kind of a "Fringe" feel to it too.
>>84651608
Yes, like that. Root was the cutest, but Shaw was quality too.
>>84651555
>Pink Floyd
>jj abrahms
PoI sucks
just watch Fringe
CBS turned PoI into a procedural. every show is the same
>>84651976
>its an "i never watched the show" post

(((You)))
Why is she so perfect, bros?
>>84652674
I know, right?
It's not fair
Never stopped missing her in blue flavor.
Do you think she could be blue again? If I could make one movie or show come true...
So... kino, good waifus, good end. kino soundtrack, Fringe feels... Sounds nice so far. Let's hope /tv/ is right. Let's do this...
>>84653011
>Do you think she could be blue again?
Sadly, no

Don't forget the god tier score

It's a fantasy. Indulge me.

>>84651138
It's a "stealth procedural", in that it pretended to basically be a new version of the CSI formula with a sci-fi plot device providing the cases, but as it was massively popular (#1 in its time slot almost consistently, even when they moved it to Thursday which is always the worst day), and as it cemented its viewers it started moving towards sci-fi, which basically took over during season 4, and eventually got CBS to give it a half-length final season to kill it, as B was creating it and got all the DVD/Blu Ray sales which were massive due to how serialised it became.
It's my second favourite show of all time behind the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, it's not possible to overstate how great it is.

Ok, there's a parallel universe where that exists. And it went on for 8 seasons. Each one better than the last.

Recognizable style from Westworld and GoT

There is hope yet.
Just have to watch this and then wait for that marvel show that I hope ends up being pure kino

When does it get great? I tried twice to watch it but couldn't go past season 2. It feels like watching an 80s TV series in a modern context. Cardboard henchmen, villains, gun fights..
>>84653790
It probably wont be very good, but I'm gonna watch it anyway. For Amy
>>84654016
S1 Ep1
>>84654016
If you didn't like where it was clear the show was going by S02E13- Dead Reckoning, you probably won't like anything afterwards, it's mostly cyberwarfare with humans running around trying to help/hinder the combatants.
>>84654062
Still don't get why make her blonde though. I like her better in natural brown (or blue)
But whatever. We'll see...
>>84651976
Fringe is great, but POI has an added factor of being something that could actually happen.
AI is going to happen, likely within the next 50 years.
>>84654062
>>84654276
I don't recall her being blonde in Person of Interest, and I definitely would have noticed
It's great.
>>84654341
they're talking bout different show
but... root was a blonde haired kid and they showed her as blonde after her friends body was discovered

New show. Coming up somewhere later this year...
Is where she goes next after PoI ended, and where she goes in tv, I follow.
>>84654341

I will watch anything with Amy in it. I watched a Hallmark channel christmas movie once just because she was in it, and I'm not really proud of it.even though it was kino

Why can't my programming remain fag free? Fags are literally everywhere and they have to be in everything and i hate Jew hood for this. If for nothing else, I hate Jew wood for this. It's time for a killing. Kill enough of them and this shit will return to the obscure.

Her adorableness, whatever accent or transformation she's in is unparalleled.
>tfw no blue gf
>>84655440
It was the best way forward desu i didnt want the main lead getting involved in romance with the other main actors.
Also it doesnt feel forced seems like an imitation game style romance where their so autistic they become gay
>>84655797
As to the lgbt agenda thing... I preferred the times when it didn't matter and it didn't have to be pushed in every single show. When it happened, it happened and that was it. Same as the blacked meme that is now everywhere.
But I'm not amerifag, so I guess I don't mind
>>84655658
True, but you gotta admit the accent was especially cute
>>84656015
It really wasn't bad on Person of Interest. It never felt forced or political. The whole thing just evolved out of Amy Acker and Sarah Shahi's chemistry. It wasn't a "quick we need to appease the gays" kind of situation
>>84651138
I was on this show
>Puts on lots of clothes

>>84655797
The outtakes for this show are so great, do you have the one where he reveals he really is Jesus and starts controlling the weather on camera?
>>84656278
>>84656222
No human being should be so cute. It's unnatural
>>84656367
Jim Caviezel seems like such a cool guy irl, and John Reese was probably the coolest character on modern tv
It was a pretty good show. Some times it's tiring to watch another "crime of the week" episode that's common mid season. But its worth a watch.
>>84656586
It's kind of too bad they didn't let him show his fun side more often.
>>84656509
Maybe it's because she hanged out with Jesus lel >>84656586
>tfw I'm a good Christian now
>>84651138
It is a comfy enough time filler, but there's some shark jumping as it nears the end.
>>84656735
Idk, I like punished Reese more, he played the "heartbroken badass" archetype really well. He was terrifying in the episode afterCarter died
>>84655483
Fuck off shitposter who has never seen the show, see the spoiler in
>>84655349
>>84656772
Are you saying she's an angel?
In addition to being cute, her DTF look could melt steel.
>>84651138
just make it through season 1. then hang on for the ride of season 2 and 3.
>>84656823
I was warned and spoiled about the ending.
Didn't want to seeAmy diebut the general opinions ended up convincing me it's worth the watch and thepainfulending too
>>84656943It was real to Shaw though. It's not her fault she was too autistic to tell Root in real life before she died
>>84657014

>>84656886
Not saying change his character, just give him a few more opportunities (an undercover situation or something) to show Caviezel's range.

>>84657835
Nope.Even though I loved having the Machine voiced and then played by Amy Acker at the end of the series, I thought the all the bits where it communicated through text were really cool. I don't know why, I just really dug it
>tfw a show that started out as a procedural on CBS had better cinematography than most 'prestige tv' shows
i liked root.i would've preferred a horror ending with everyone dead except root, who is piecing the machine back together so she can be with her only friends
>>84656968
Would you like me to lie?
>>84656162
Which season/episode, senpai?
shame it ended, show got so much better when it fully embraced the scifi aspects
earlier episodes honestly feel like a completely different series

>>84655127
Degenerate dykes.
>>84658153
I blame it on the show somehow managing to have an interesting premises and actually being allowed to act on it
>>84660041
wrong
>>84659808
It's what they needed to do to get CBS to approve the show. Started out in stealth mode to build up enough viewership to have the show they wanted.
>>84659468
Root had a great redemption arc. I liked the way it panned out.
>>84660041
Lewd lesbians.
>>84660082
fully aware of that, still makes me wonder what the show could have been if it hadn't needed the stealth mode or gotten a bit more time post-transition
It's kinda hilarious that by the later seasons pretty much everyone's reaction to episodes in the original style was "nice nice, now can we PLEASE get back to the scifi drama" and that the persons of interest were the least engaging part of a show called Person of Interest
>>84651138
autism, whiteknighting
>>84659799
Season 3. Had a few lines in an episode. I dont really wanna get into personal details honestly. But, it was a great set to be on. Sarah Shahi is so hot in person (what a surprise)
>>84651138
I have nothing but good things to say about this series. Immensely enjoyable and gripping television that will leave you empty when you cross the ending.
The show was ruined when they added that awful girl pretending to be the computer so I stopped watching
Please tell me she dies or stops being in the show in or after s3
>>84660124
well if there's one thing the series loved doing, it was redemption arcs
>>84657979
me too. It's a great character. The same as the whole Ernest Thornhill story and what his company did.
>>84651976
I've watched both, person of interest is superior.
>>84653209
why did it have to end...
One of the best prime time tv shows that will ever be made despite some glaring flaws in certain episodes and the horribly budget constrained shootout scenes that served as unintentional comic relief and a rushed ending we almost didn't get.
All I can say is I'm glad this wasn't on FOX...
>>84659808
as that other anon pointed out, CBS greenlit this because it looked like a run of the mill procedural shitshow. That's also why the ending was rushed, between schedules conflicts and CBS not wanting to spend any more money on something they didn't ask for I'm happy we actually got a last season and some closure.
The ending was really good overall and hit me right in the feels.
So I wonder about the endingSo given that the new machine doesn't have the memories of the old one, it's parent figure is going to be Shaw and what happened to the first 42 versions, what are the chances of it going full Samaritan?
was this the show where everyone got kneecapped several times every episode
shit was hilarious
>>84660824
>CBS not wanting to spend any more money on something they didn't ask
even if they didn't ask for it, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the show have damn good ratings?
Sure they managed to sneak a cyberpunk drama disguised as procedural crap right by you, but if it's selling why not roll with it a bit longer.
>>84660846
none, since that's the point of the final monologue
>>84660948
I don't know how good were those ratings, not from Burgerland. I do remember that /tv/ started making episode threads on the last two seasons and you read more often than not how a lot of people was watching it as a guilty pleasure at first and somehow sticked til the end because they liked the plot or some character or part of it's silliness.
>>84660948
I remember reading the reason was that WB is the producer and owns the show so CBS wasn't making all the money off of it and decided to cancel it, same situation as The Mentalist.
>>84660948
Not exactly how it went down. In answering >>84660760 plaintive cry.. The show was cancelled due to money.
CBS shared production credit for PoI and therefore earned less on it than other shows which they aired where they owned them 100%. So even though PoI was a higher rated and far more critically acclaimed show, after splitting the profit CBS was earning less in comparison to their crappier shows.
>>84660874
There IS a lot of kneecapping and over the top, 80s style one man/woman army shit. That's why I liked it. It's a nice callback to simpler times, when the good people mostly win.
>>84661177
Thats usually the case, I've seen a lot of well loved shows getting canned, always for the same reason as you mentioned. Everything more so now, than ever before, is about money if not in tv production then in film production.
>stopped using blank firing prop guns after like season 2
I begrudgingly watched the rest of it but that pissed me off to no end and i cringed in every episode.
>>84651138
>just finished Angel
>everyone praising the final episode and comparing it to Person of Interest's
>it even has Fred in it
Gonna be my next binge, after The Leftovers
lewd
It's terrible. It's an awful show which just churns the latest tech memes without putting any thought into it.
It's Vernor Vinge by way of Stephenie Meyer.
