>>84650053
What do you mean, I took like 5 hours to do the whole thing.
>>84649979
I like where this is going.
>>84649979
musical kino is hard to come by
Little Shop of Horrors could be the beginning and the end of the genre
>>84649979
7 Brides for 7 Brothers is kino
>>84649979
Miss Saigon 25th anniversary edition
The Producers
Chicago.

What about Sweeney Todd and The nightmare before Christmas.
Oliver! is great
>>84651281
What are you referring to?
>>84651356
Sweeny Todd sucked because Depp sings (and looks) like a pussy, the part is written for a baratone. Alan Rickman was an ok pick for the judge though.
My vote for musical kino is The Music Man.

This. Musicals as a genre of film haven't been developed to the extent they should, and I say this as someone who dearly loves musicals. Most of the ones I have to recommend are only on stage, or have imperfect film versions.
OP, if you can't get your ass to the theater, watch the old PBS recording of Into the Woods. If you like it, feel free to watch the Disney movie afterwards. The Disney movie is 9/10 as a movie, but only 6/10 as an adaptation.
You'll also enjoy Dr. Horrible, but it's the same basic story as LSOH, just abridged somewhat.

This
Cats 1998 is my favourite ever musical video
I hope you're talking about the director's cut OP and not the faggy ass theatrical version. It's the difference between kino and compromise.
Anyway more kino:
>Original Film Musicals
Labyrinth
Phantom of the Paradise
Doctor Horrible's Sing-along Blog
The Wizard of Oz
Moulin Rouge
La La Land
>Good film adaptations of stage shows

Lucky bastard.
Carousel, lovely waltz but distracting wife-beating
Chicago
Joseph, reminds me of innocence and simpler times
Here Lies Love has a good soundtrack, David Byrne worked on it
Sweeney Todd (I love Helena BC)
Anything Goes
Into The Woods
Charlie And The CF (unpopular opinion, I like it better than Willy Wonka)
Not Grease (too much chad)
Not La LA Land (vacuous)
Not Phantom (you're not 50 years old are you?)
>>84652293
>The Producers (original version)
That only had two songs.
>>84652957
So did you.
>>84652957
