Really love the movie, but dislike the changed ending. Well, maybe not dislike, but I wish it was kept the same, because I love the book ending.
It's a small change, but it changes the entire tone of the ending. In the movieDoc driving away with Shasta is nice, and happy. Unsure of the future, but happy.But the book hasDoc driving through the fog by himself, not sure where he is or how to get home, hoping that when the fog clears "something else will be there instead" which suggests Doc's exhaustion with his culture and lifestyle, which has left him alone in the fog.
