Greetings, /tv/, anyone seen this TV movie? Depicts nuclear war and the grim days/weeks after it.
What disturbed me about it the most was that it happens in my own hometown of Kansas City. I have stood in some of the very places filmed.
Apparently, this film made Ronald Reagan cool it on the saber-rattling with the USSR.
I think it was Gorbechev coming to power as a reformer after the sudden deaths of the elderly hardliners Andropov and Chernenko that convinced Reagan and the state department to back off just a bit...but only a bit.
