No, that's all wrong. The Doctor could be reserved but he showed emotion at truly intense moments and stealing the TARDIS is the biggest decision of his life. I'm not saying I'd expect him to break down in tears, but something like
>Look at that, Susan. The ship's central control column. Isn't that the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?

>Sorry m8, just trying to read that in Hartnell's voice is pretty much impossible
That's because Wandering in the Cletus Dimension didn't even try to put a Hartnell spin on the dialogue, not because of the sentiment itself. Hartnell's Doctor appreciated design and beauty in things and was attracted to complicated machinery and in general was fascinated with things that were new. It's not ridiculous to think he could've called the TARDIS beautiful, although I agree it's not the most Hartnell-esque term. "Magnificent" or "elegant" or something like that is more believable.

I just finished the season finale. Did the Master just die for good? John Simm's Master said Missy was given a full blast and to not try to regenerate so I assume this means they killed off the Master for good even though he escapes?

What the fuck is "The Pilot" exactly and why was she powerful enough to take down a Dalek as well as re-arrange atoms if she were telling the truth about making Bill human again? I assume this means that we now have Clara and Me as well as Bill and her running around the universe having adventures through space and time?

>>84601914
How many times have the Cybermen been created? I was wondering that too until I realized they all developed in completely isolated environments. Weren't the Cybermen from Tennant's tenure created in an alternate universe and thus never existed in the one the show takes place in and weren't the ones at the end of Series 8 created by Missy? I thought it was implied that John Simm's Master created the Mondasian Cybermen there.
>>
>>84601981
>Did the Master just die for good?
It's ambiguous enough that it won't stop a future showrunner from bringing the character back. Typical master episode really.
>>
>>84601999
So Missy could still regenerate?
>>
>>84601968
Huh, I hadn't heard that but I thought it was kind of weird that didn't happen. Makes sense.

Can someone explain to me how was the ship related to Mondas?
Was it from Mondas or headed to Mondas?
If Mondasians built it and it was from it, why was blue men group there? If Monas had that kind of technology, why not just build more ships instead of bothering with Cybermen? If they were part of some space community, why not ask them for help?
If it was headed to Mondas, how were Mondasians aboard?
>>
>>84602022
>did you really think i wouldn't program my own laser screwdriver to override the anti-regeneration feature if the DNA of the user matched the DNA of the person it was used against?

There, I just gave you a halfway reasonable way Missy could regenerate and I'm retarded so some future producer/writer/showrunner could probably come up with something even better.

Well, okay, the Doctor faced consequences - he took the energy and regenerated. (If Rose had kept it, they said she'd have died.) But super duper Bill and Heather get to just essentially keep the magic powers, and that's fucking lame.
>>
>>84602090
limited space travel
it was a crew of 50 on the colony ship, heading back to mondas
>>
>>84602096
>But super duper Bill and Heather get to just essentially keep the magic powers, and that's fucking lame.
Well, to be fair, Bill and Heather didn't single handedly wipe out the bad guys in their episode, like Rose did.
>>
The magic space oil is a commercial fuel type right? Meaning there's a lot of it? And it can travel space and time at will, and absorb a person and take on their persona?
What was the "target found, target engaged" whispery voice the other side of the oil made in the pilot?
>>
>>84602111
I just find it stupid that we've gone from such power and ability being basically god-like, uncontrollable and dangerous, to 2 randoms getting to whizz around the universe with it with no consequence.
>>
>>84601981
>How many times have the Cybermen been created?
Three.
Mondas - 1
Ship - 2
Alternate Earth - 3.
Everything else is derivative of the above. And it could be argued that Ship is derivative of Mondas, since the original Mondasian Cybermen is probably where Simm got the idea to turn them in the first place.
>>

How did the Doctor hold regeneration after getting hit so many times? In The Impossible Astronaut he gets hit once < regeneration < twice < "dead". Holding makes fuck all sense, and Cybermen rays were probably deadly, Missy was visibly afraid after seeing them after her.

First one seems like another piece of random power creep that happens all the time. Nobody cares how it will reflect on the whole Whoniverse. That said, it could be one of the kind, it was never established.

The rest seem like a leftover that didn't get excised during revision. Originally puddle seemed like a portal of a sort, but Moffat abandoned the idea. That's my theory.

I thought it was weird that it showed all the RTD companions but no classic companions, especially when series 10 has such a hard on for the classic series. I know NuWho has been mostly its own self-contained narrative despite having lots of references to earlier stuff, but now I feel like it's been going for long enough and is so far from where it started that it could treat its own early years and Classic Who as more comparable. If nothing else, it's weird that he remembers Sarah Jane as the middle aged version he met like five times more than as she was when he traveled with her for years.

Yes. 12 and 1 throughout the episode.
(If the others appear, it'll be old footage.)
13 only appears at the end in the 'traditional' final scene of the episode. The Xmas readthrough had a script which stopped as soon as 12 regenerated. The final scene will be filmed later, and written by Chibnall.

I can see why RTD wouldn't touch her - he wanted the Doctor to be the poor and lonely last of the Time Lords, and revealing that not only there's another survivor besides the Master, but also that survivor is his close relative would fuck that image up.

If you're only interested in listening to high-quality audios and skipping the lesser ones, you probably shouldn't stick to listening in an order and just pick up specific audios people recommend.

That's something that only people who have actually seen Hartnell Who know about though, which isn't most of the audience. Irving Braxiatel is amazing.

They could never terminate the Master. He's too ingrained in the show's history.

I figure they could have some audios where he sees what happens after the Time War, after the War Doctor's done his thing with the Moment.

Obama will be the next Doctor

How?
>>
>>84603705
Would be entertaining if only for Trump's tweets attacking his Doctor's methods after every episode
>>
>>84603663
You can never kill the Master.

They'll just show up again sometime in the future with no explanation of how they escaped from death in The Doctor Falls.
>>
>>84603696
The Master can and should return, always against the Doctor. But it would be nice to know that in the end he/she will do the right thing and align with the Doctor.
>>
>>84603705
This. The End of Time was all foreshadowing, RTD's been playing the long game (not a coincidence that he wrote an episode with that title in his first series) and pulling the strings behind the scenes the whole time.

>He Can't even let one Dalek die in order to protect his people. Sad.
>>
>>84603721
'Cause the next Master now might have a bit of decency in him/her. That's unlike the character throughout the show.
>>
>>84603747
If the Master returns I want a whole troll episode of the Doctor suspecting that the Master is up to no good but they aren't responsible for any of it.
>>
>>84603705
And Trump the next Master?
>>
>>84603767
You should listen to Big Finish's Master. It's so fucked up.

Try Hillary libertard
>>

The main range is mostly standalone, but there are trilogies and arcs that occasionally show up. The Eighth Doctor audios should be listened from release order first though.

The Sara Kingdom audios, Peri and the Piscon Paradox, Spare Parts, Jubilee, etc. If it's written by Shearman, Dorney, Fountain, Guerrier, or Morris, you've got something good in your hands.

Obviously, the actors will sound older. Most of the 60s companions won't sound anything at all like themselves. While other characters like Mel, Ace, and Peri sound pretty much the same as they did in the show.

What are some comfy stories from Classic Who I can watch before bed?

I need to slaap now so I want to put something on to happy me fall asleep. I started watching Tom Baker's run and left off in the middle of Ark in Space which I think I should re-watch from the beginning, but I don't want to re-watch it right this second.

Are there any good Hartnell stories? I thought about watching The Aztecs since I heard from /who/ that it was a pretty accurate portrayal of the culture for the 60's.

Recommendations?
