What does /tv/ think about adaptation? Personally one of my top 10.

Perhaps Mrs. Streep's best performance to date, "Adaptation" is awe-inspiring, heartwarming, balls to the wall comedy at every level. Only hotheads and cucks won't appreciate Mr. Nicolas Cage's iconic performance. Spike Jonze, who is mostly known as the mind behind Bubble Guppies, outdid himself both professionally and personally.

I feel adaptation and scynecdoche new york are Charlie Kaufman's best.
Unironically, literally me. That aside I love it.
It's great. One of the best films of the 00s.

meryl streep plays the same airhead shrew that she plays in every other goddamn movie.
the movie is still good though
>>84595250
it's kaufman's merit nigga.
>>84595603
is that you kaufman?
great movie btw
>>84595079
it is certified kino. perfect level of kaufman's style compared to something like scynecdoche which is over the top self indulgent (maybe the point?)
>>84595079
PERFECT AMOUNT OF META
angle with the twin was genius
prove me wrong
1 of the 3 Kaufman films in my top 10. Fantastic.

do you do blurbs for newspapers?

I think a big part of Synecdoche is how self-indulgent it is, mimicking how self-indulgent Cotard's play becomes

>scynecdoche new york
Shit movie
>>84595079
I love this movie.... Haven't seen it in years. I seem to remember it having two of the most jarring POV car accident scenes that I can recall.
>>84595079
It was meh. Kinda boring. Nicolas Cage was okay though.
>>84595658
I barely got through Synedoche. Such a bore. I loved all of the previous Kaufman's work and I saw that Ebert named it movie of the year so I watched. Jesus Christ. I get what he was trying to do, and the movie certainly has it's merits but it's just too much. I barely remember anything from it except that he starts falling apart, that his wife paints miniature paintings and that tall, bald guy who plays the play version of him.

shit opinion
it's amazing to me how 100% of the people who claim to love this film don't even understand it.
>>84600201
I don't claim to love it. But was is there to misunderstand?

It's kino, both Kaufman and Jonze's best work. It's the perfect balance of them going up their own ass whilst still maintaining a traditional appeal
