I got that tooth whitening we talked about, after David Lynch got me hooked on coffee, sealing my teeth's fate as yellow garbage. The pain was and is far worse than anything I'd imagined. Women have compared it to child birth. From the moment the machine really gets going, I experienced random, intense electric shocks in individual teeth. Still am.

The machine seemed to be some kind of Goa'uld torture device, just with blue light instead of gold. I survived their test until the third pass, at which point I told the hyginest we had a blue rose situation and I thought I might have left a cherry pie in the oven. Luckily she understood.

So thanks to Lynch not only am I addicted to caffeine, I'm digging out some oxy left over from my last surgery. Not only that but if I try looking at the teeth in the mirror, it's like it's not me. I can only check for a second because the shocks completely take over if I keep staring. I haven't slept because the garmonbozia generated by this experience could have me waking up in the lodge.

I agree with this, I can kinda imagine conversations that may have happened between earle and cooper back when they were partners on all sorts of metaphisical and esoteric shit. Cooper used to be pretty quirky himself before he got neutered during the second half of season 2.
Earle would have been awful if they dragged him on too long but I think his subplot ended up being pretty decent overall, easily the best part out of the bad episodes

I agree that the first 8 or so episodes are as good, in some cases better, though even then I could start to feel the bloat of some of the less interesting subplots. S1 feels more engaging because its subplots are better-integrated into the show than they are in S2.

While I feel the whole killer reveal and final catching is handled a little sloppily, it did give some great scenes and performances, which lets you forget about all the little things that are underwhelming leading up to that moment.
