You travel through normal space. The warp drive creates a field that bends and manipulates the fabric of space itself (hence the name "warp" drive).
It moves space around the ship. This way they can travel at super luminal speeds without having to worry about relativity and time dilation.

The warp drive uses subspace to generate the warp bubble. But "subspace" is treckbabble they throw around pretty indiscriminately.
But its not like star wars where they are traveling in another dimension.
