Next movie for me. Robocop 2, Kane becoming robot and turning on his former friends. I remember as a kid seeing the world as good guys and bad. Bad guys stuck together and same with good. But for a bad guy to turn on others was mind blowing. Plus seeing his brain and the fucking gatling gun on his shoulder didnt help. Was maybe 9-10 but that scared the crap out of me that night.

>>
>>84571547
Uhhh, no. All of his deliveries were utterly terrible. The director decided to run them all through heavy synthesizers just to make them sound decent. And even then, a lot of them are still bad.
>>
Idk if music videos count, but Michael Jackson's Thriller video fucked me up as a kid. And to this day, it still haunts me. I've moved on from my fear of zombies, but I'm still afraid of this song and video. Especially Vincent Price's "Rap" and laughter at the end.

As for movies, Tales From the Hood isn't as scary as it was when I was younger, but the black zombie guy and the creepy dolls I can't get over.
>>

Yeah, I remember reading an interview with him. Welles was out of breath just trying to get through a sentence, and would rarely give them more than one take, even if they asked for it. They had to chop up and mix and match almost every line to make it sound decent, and then they digitally distorted it with their robot filter more than normal, and made it way more bass-y, you can't even tell its Welles, and I'm pretty sure that wasn't their original intention.

Honestly, the notion that a Transformer the size of a planet would have odd, belabored speech patterns is a bit clever, but since it wasn't really intentional, I can't quite praise it that much.

I don't know. Maybe it was how cinematic it was. Not like, say, an episode of Unsolved Mysteries (or shows that followed the same premise but were primarily about alien sightings) where it's all very drab and clinical. And to be fair, the aliens in Fire in the Sky don't look like Greys, they're fleshy clearly biological and their have normal eyes.

Dude YES that's it. Little details like C3PO walking in the dungeon and that tentacle reaching out and grabbing him, just this idea that Jabba's palace was this unbelievably fucked up hell of debauchery and suffering. Like him eating live creatures, just biting off their heads and shit while that rat monkey thing laughed.

The 90's IT was so goofy and campy for the most part, but some scenes are still genuinely frightening. As a movie (as a whole) it hasn't aged well, but the way a few scenes are laid out just works perfectly.

That one in particular is pretty great. It's so normal and then it gets weird very quick.

I had this on tape as a kid, probably 7 or 8. My dad took it away from me when he saw this scene but ironically this scene was never the one that bothered me.

It was the melty guy obviously.

It's weird how I think back to the things I watched as a kid with dirty scenes that just went right over my head, like the first Ace Ventura. I remember being like 6 and watching the blowjob scene at the beginning.

>would you like me to take your pants off instead?
>lol what? Why would that help?
>she goes down on him
>lol why is he grabbing the sill above him and wiggling around?

You'd think a small child watching something like that would desensitize them to sex or whatever but it literally goes right through them. I had absolutely no idea what was happening there and I just shrugged and moved on.

>turns out my mother taped it because she thought it was funny to watch my reaction
Sounds like something my jackass uncles would've done to me.
Reminds me of the time one of them put on a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie on full blast when I was three years old.
I sperged out and ran into a wall.

That damned Zuni voodoo doll from 'Trilogy of Terror.' I was 6yo when I saw it when it came out on tv that night, and was traumatized enough that my parents put a ban on me watching anything remotely scary.

For a long time afterwards I was truly terrified to put my foot down because I thought something would reach out from under the bed or couch and grab me. To add to my fears, my bedroom was downstairs in a dark basement of a really old house where I routinely suffered from night-terrors the entire 7 yrs we lived there. Because there was only one light switch, I had to descend the stairs in the dark then navigate oh.. about a kilometre or so to my bedroom door. That 'pursuit' feeling the whole time... jeezuz-fuck.

A few other things got to me as a kid:
-'Dragons Domain' episode of Space 1999
-a few episodes of 'Project UFO'
-watching a "In The News.." segment shown between saturday morning cartoons back in the 70's about a sasquatch scream recorded near where I lived in Vancouver, BC.

'The Entity' and 'Alien' scared the shit out of a junior high chum & I during 2 sleepovers.

And something that belongs more in /x/, it was late friday night & Dad was asleep on the couch behind me and I was sitting on the floor back against the couch while I watched 'Streets of San Francisco.' Suddenly a basketball sized ball of light about waist high off the floor suddenly glided out of a room just left of where I was facing, made a bending 90 degree right turn a bit above & in front of me & drifted into the kitchen off to my left where it disappeared.
>wide_eyes.jpg

Needless to say I didn't check on it as I was about 4 or 5 yo. I climbed up on the couch and snuggled up to Dad, later refusing to sleep alone in my own bed. Never saw It again. Freaky.. still gives me goose bumps.

That just reminded me that the little impy troll thing in the cat story of that Stephen King anthology movie (is that Creepshow?) was a nasty little thing. The black oozy pond creature was quite horrible, too.
>>
>>84601835

So I was mixing up Cat's Eye (duh) that has the troll in the third story, and the blob thing is from Creepshow 2. But both are by Stephen King.
